A Proverbs 31 woman if there ever was one! But my favorite thing about my friend Kari was her wonderful, God-given sense of humor. She loved to laugh; she knew laughter was good medicine and she could laugh at herself. Like the time she wore two different shoes to church one Sunday; she made sure we all had a good laugh over that. She cared deeply about people, her faith was evident and steadfast, and she’ll be greatly missed.
Fond memory of playing 1-on-1 basketball with Kari. Albeit I was taller she “schooled” me like 9 to 1 while likely pregnant. Unfortunately, I had to feign an injury to maintain my dignity. Anyway, she was lovely, godly and precious to all who she knew. I thank God for giving her to us, alloying Rick and her children to be loved by her and for taking her to be with You until we meet again. The Cvancara’s

Kari and I became neighbors when Rick and her returned to Delaware. As I watched their family grow, our daughters became friends. My youngst daughter went with her and her family every Thursday night to AWANA. I was so grateful. Kari and I would share conversations standing outside talking and sharing our thoughts and ideas. I truly admired her as a mother and her devotion to her family. Every Christmas she would send her annual letter about the children talking about their adventures and accomplishments. We loved the Christmas treats that she and her daughters would make us. She always offered her or her children if she saw that we may need help for anything. I was very sad to hear of her illness. She was a strong fighter. I know that she is with God and will be watching over her children. We will all miss her. God bless her and her family.
Several years back Grace and Truth hosted Susan Heck for a 2 day retreat, and that was the first time I meet Kari, abd she was introducing herself and she started with the funniest opening, she had everyone laughing ☺️ I think that was her way of making everyone feel welcomed, and at ease, and she sure did.

when I first started to attend grace & truth I went one day to Sunday school by myself and as I saw a room full of families and no tables open she told me I could sit with her with a bright smile and since I arrived late there was no paper outlines left so she offered hers . From this encounter I was deeply touched by the selflessness and love shared to a complete stranger .
One of the greatest lessons Kari taught me was through her quiet, selfless kindness and her resilience in adversity.
Kari lived out her faith in the way she loved. I watched her walk through difficult seasons with steady strength and grace, trusting God even when the road was hard. She embodied “Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth” (1 John 3:18).
Her life reminds me that true faith shows up in sacrifice, and that resilience is rooted in hope. I am deeply grateful for her example and find comfort knowing she is now fully restored, whole, and at peace in the presence of Jesus.
