Karolyn E. Sanders
McDaniel, Karolyn E. Sanders of McDaniel died at Genesis HealthCare "The Pines" with her family at her side on Monday, October 22, 2012. She was 70. Born on June 5, 1942, in Topeka, KS, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Inga Rydell Swanson. Karolyn graduated from Washburn Rural High School in Topeka in 1960 and shortly after started a family. She lived in Westminster, MD, several years before moving to Millville, NJ, with her husband Dean Sanders. In the early 1980s, they visited St. Michaels, MD, for a short weekend getaway and quickly decided to make this their second home, splitting their time between McDaniel, MD, and Millville. She and Dean loved to travel, having visited more than 35 countries. In addition to her beloved husband, Karolyn is survived by three children: Debbie Royer and her husband Kurt of Westminster, MD; Ken Stoner and his wife Mia of Philadelphia, PA; and Sandra Watkins and her husband Glenn of Sewell, NJ; her brother Robert Swanson of Topeka, KS; and four grandchildren: Erica, Ryan, Jillian, and Grant. She is predeceased by her sister Joanne Kallenberger of Murfreesboro, TN. Friends may visit the family at the Hurley & Ostrowski Funeral Home P.A. of St. Michaels, on Saturday, October 27, from 3:00PM to 4:30PM.
