Keith H Carlisle's Obituary
Keith H Carlisle of Greenwood passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at his home. He was 83.
He was born on April 5, 1942 in Milford, Delaware, the son of the late William H Carlisle, Jr., and Naoma Farber Carlisle. Keith lived a life rich in love, commitment, and service.
A proud graduate of Bridgeville High School, Keith earned his diploma in 1960 before furthering his education in agriculture at the University of Delaware, from which he graduated in 1964. On June 19, 1964, he married the love of his life, Carol Russell, and together they built a nurturing and warm home in Greenwood, where they joyfully shared over six decades of marriage.
Keith devoted his life to farming, managing the family grain and vegetable farming operation with dedication and passion. His contributions to agriculture extended beyond the fields; he actively participated in various community boards and committees which include: Lifetime member of the National Corn Growers Association, Member of the United Soybean Board, Agway Board of Directors, and was the recipient of the 1998 University of Delaware George M. Worrilow Award. He cherished the time spent with friends and family sharing stories and laughter over a good meal.
He was a member of St. Johnstown United Methodist Church. He will be remembered not only for his work ethic but also for his kindness, generosity, and commitment to his farm and community.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol Russell Carlisle of Greenwood; one son William "Will" Carlisle and his wife Karla of Greenwood; four grandchildren: Ian Carlisle, Bayleigh Carlisle, Hannah Carlisle and Lilly Carlisle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Russell Carlisle and a brother Richard Carlisle.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 1:00 at Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford. The Pastor Steve Lamotte will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 to 1:00
