Kenneth Edward Covey's Obituary
Kenneth Edward Covey of Greenwood, Delaware passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Tidal Health at Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford, Delaware. He was 72.
He was born on October 25, 1953 in Seaford, Delaware the son of the late Lawrence Covey and Sylvia Burtelle Covey.
Ge graduated from Seaford High School with the class of 1972. It was there he met his high school sweet heart, Linda Townsend. They were married on February 16, 1973 and made their home in Seaford and later moved to Greenwood.
He worked for E.I. DuPont in Seaford in various plant positions and eventually worked in the Power House. He retired in 2009 after 37 years of faithful service. Unable to sit still, he worked for Bay Health for eleven years until he retired in 2020.
He served with the Seaford Vol. Fire Department #87 for many years along-side of his two brothers.
An avid outdoors man, he enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting. He was also known to tinker around the house on his lawnmowers and cars. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Townsend Covey of Greenwood; a son Michael S. Covey, Sr of Greenwood and a daughter Mindy Crites and her husband Mike of Laurel; four grandchildren: Michael S Covey, Jr, Chelsea Ann Brown, Sarah Lynn Covey and Nathan Michael Crites; seven grandchildren: Derrick, Avery, Grayson, Layla, Myla, Rylah, and Kaysen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four Siblings: Jack Covey, Wayne Covey, Sharon Sake Miller and Linda Poo.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
