Kenneth C. Effinger
Wittman, Kenneth C. Effinger of Wittman, died at the University of MD. Hospital, Baltimore, on Sunday, January 29, 2012. He was 82.
Born on November 22, 1929 in Bucks County, PA., he was the son of the late Charles A. and Mildred Hesley Effinger. Ken grew up in Morrisville, Pa where he graduated from Morrisville High School in 1948. Following his graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving until 1952. Upon his release from active duty he moved to Wittman where his family had started a business. In 1954 Ken married Marlene Greenfield.
In 1960 he launched a business career of his own forming a partnership with Arthur Mason, the business was known as Mason & Effinger Plumbing & Heating. They maintained the partnership through 1972 when Ken, then worked independently. In 1991 he joined Shaw’s as a consultant. Ken held the oldest Master Plumbers License in Talbot Co.
An avid hunter and woodworker Ken enjoyed gardening and later in life took up golf!
In addition to his beloved wife Marlene, Mr. Effinger is survived by two sons; Jeffery K. Effinger of Gackle, N.D. Terry D. Effinger and wife Joanne of Easton and Lori Effinger Geisler and husband Luther of Sherwood. Three Grandchildren; Katie M. Effinger, Emily P. Effinger, and Martha M. Effinger.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Hurley & Ostrowski Funeral Home P.A. St. Michaels, with the Rev John Moore officiating
Burial will be private
