Kenneth Howie, III's Obituary
Kenneth Howie, III of Hurlock, Maryland passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2023 at Accentcare Hospice in Newark, DE. He was 77.
He was born on June 9, 1946 in Norristown, PA, the son of the late Kenneth Howie, Jr. was a veteran and mother Janet Middleton Howie.
After graduating high School, he graduated from Juniata College he earned his Master's Degree at the University of Maryland.
He was married to Virginia Howie on December 27, 1988. They made their home in Lincoln California and later moved to Hurlock to get closer to family.
He began his career as a school teacher and then counselor for students at both Easton High School and Saints Peter and Paul High School. He later worked for 2 major firms as regional manager and retired as director of human resources for a pharmaceutical company.
In his free time, Kenneth was an active karaoke singer at the American Legion in Hurlock on Friday nights and he loved music. Had a big part in helping with the entertainment for the Legion he was also a member for the Sons of the auxiliary at the 243 American Legion post. He also enjoyed playing basketball tennis in his younger years, and later he played golf enjoyed singing, playing the piano and trivia. He was a dedicated Eagles fan; and loved to spend time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Virginia Howie of Hurlock, 3 children: Kirk Howie and his wife Anna of Easton, MD, Jason Howie and Jennifer Sims both of Florida, Sebrena Baxter and her husband Don Baxter and Julie Slack all of California; grandchildren: Jaylen, KJ, Teagan, Mason, Kaden, Luke, Amanda, Brenda, Dakota and Steven one great grandson Tyson; and two siblings: Elizabeth Schaeffer of Easton and John Howie and his wife Lisa of South Carolina.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg.
