Kenneth A Maxwell's Obituary
Kenneth A. Maxwell St. Michaels, Kenneth A. Maxwell of St. Michaels, died at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center, Easton, on Thursday, November 13, 2014. He was 78. Born on February 6, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio he was the son of the late Virgil and Ruth Williams Maxwell. After attending public school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Following his release from active duty he returned to St. Michaels where he worked on the water, until going into business with his father. Together they owned and operated Maxwell’s Service station in St. Michaels for many years, after his father retired he maintained the business until 1978 when he and his family moved to Rhode Island. After two years they returned to Talbot Co. where Mr. Maxwell or “Kenny†as he was known worked at various jobs, caretaker, salesman, hunting guide and waterman. He loved the outdoors, fishing and crabbing with his family and friends. Mr. Maxwell is survived by his beloved wife; the former Sarah Stanfield whom he married on October 8, 1960, a son; Brian Maxwell and his wife Kristie of Birmingham, AL. two grandchildren; Kyle Maxwell and Noelle Maxwell both of Birmingham, AL. also many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son; Christopher Maxwell, a brother; Richard Maxwell, and two sisters; Carolyn Bridges and Eleanor Howeth. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday November 19, 2014 at the St. Michaels Catholic Mission Church at 12:00noon. There will be a viewing for Mr. Maxwell at the Ostrowski Funeral Home St. Michaels on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Sts. Peter & Paul Parish/ Social Hall Building Fund 7906 Ocean Gateway, Easton, Maryland 21601, or to the St. Michaels Fire Dept. 1001S. Talbot St. St. Michaels, MD. 21663 Arrangements are by the Ostrowski Funeral Home, St. Michaels.
