Kenneth Leo Murtha, Jr.'s Obituary
Wittman, MD; It is with heavy hearts that the family of Kenneth Leo Murtha, Jr. announce his sudden passing at his home on April 21, 2025. Ken was born on an army base in Montgomery, Alabama on December 24, 1945 to Louisa and Kenneth Murtha, Sr.
He spent most of his youth being raised in what was a great place to be raised, Levittown, Pennsylvania.
Ken joined the Navy during his senior year of High School and spent the next few years in the Mediterranean on the USS AMERICA. he was part of the commissioning crew and is a plank owner.
After his discharge, he was employed by Bell of PA. and as the changes to the phone company came he always remained a phone company employee in several different capacities. He retired in 2000.
Ken retired to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 2012 from Washington Crossing, PA. A move he never regretted.
Ken is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Green Murtha, his brother's; Ron and his wife Ruth of Haslet, TX; and brother; John of New Hope, PA. a brother in law Glenn Green and wife Leta of Burnet, TX. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and his devoted dog Layla.
Services will be held at a later date at the Washington Crossing Veterans Cemetery, Washinton Ctrooing, PA.
Loacal arrangements are entrusted to the Framptom Funeral Home-Ostrowski Chapel of St. Michaels, Marylnd.
