Kirk Anthoney Bartholomew's Obituary
The family of Kirk Bartholomew, Sr. sadly announce his unexpected passing on Friday, January 16, 2026 while at work in Dagsboro, Delaware. Kirk lived in Preston, Maryland and was 58 years old at the time of his death.
Born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania on September 14, 1967, Kirk was the son of the late Wesley "Jim" Bartholomew, Sr. and the late Barbara (Leberman) Bartholomew Collins. On April 26, 1997 he married the former Tracy Coleman. Kirk attended Bethlehem Wesleyan Church for many years and then later attended New Liberty Wesleyan Church.
Kirk grew up all his life around trucks. Following in the path of his grandfather, father and brothers. He started working at the age of 10 sweeping the yard at Koski Trucking, and after earning his CDLs he began driving. His career included cross country trips and driving local routes. Most recently he was owner-operator of KAB Transport, Inc hauling for Atlantic Concrete. Kirk always kept his trucks polished and clean. He would say, "If it doesn't shine, it isn't mine". When kirk wasn't behind the wheel he enjoyed time with his family, traveling, and fishing from his pontoon boat.
Left to mourn Kirk are his wife Tracy Coleman Bartholomew of Preston, MD; his step-daughter Heather Sedgwick (Buddy) of Preston, MD; his son Kirk Bartholomew, Jr of Branson, MO; his daughters Nicole Bartholomew (Kyle Marshall) of Georgetown, DE and Rachel Bartholomew (Lane Scharch) of Preston, MD; his siblings Betty Jo Rivera (Miguel) of Reading, PA, Rusty Bartholomew, Sr. of Frederica, DE and John Bartholomew (Ashley) of Denison, TX; a special nephew Rusty Bartholomew, Jr. (Beth) of Pasadena, MD; his brothers-in-law Keith Coleman (Joyce) of Preston, MD, Howard Coleman, Jr. of Preston, MD, Donald Coleman of Boise, ID and Doug Bradley of Federalsburg, MD; his sister-in-law Karen Gibbons-Nef of Saint Michaels, MD; his nine grandchildren; and his many nieces and nephews.
Kirk was preceded in death by his parents Jim Bartholomew, Sr. and Barbara Bartholomew Collins; his siblings Darlene Hutson and Wesley "Jimmy" Bartholomew, Jr; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Howard and Myrtle Coleman.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Framptom Funeral Home by the Coales in Federalsburg, MD starting at 11am. The family will receive friends and relatives starting at 10am the same day. Burial will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston, MD.
