Lawrence W. Horney, Sr. Easton, Lawrence Wayne Horney, Sr. of Easton, died at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center, Easton on Thursday, October16, 2014. He was 80. Born in Talbot Co. on June 24, 1934 he was the son of the late James and Florence Jones Horney. He attended Talbot Co. public schools and graduated from the Idlewild High School in 1953, he then enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served four years, during which were spent in Germany and here in the U.S. Following his discharge he returned to the Easton area. Within a short time he was re-activated again in the army for an additional 2 years. Upon his second release he worked at various jobs, until beginning a career with Bay Shore Foods as a Supervisor/ Inspector, he stayed with the company through all of the ownership changes, when he retired the company was owned by Perdue. Mr. Horney was an avid baseball, and football fan he devoted to the Orioles and Ravens! Mr. Horney is survived by a son; Lawrence W. “Larry†Horney, Jr. (Stephanie Harris), and a daughter; Vickie Horney, all of Easton, two grandchildren; Erica Horney (Fiancée Donjoven Batson) and Ryan Horney. In addition to his parents and siblings he was preceded in death by his wife Vivian who died in April 2000. Services will be private. Arrangements are by the Ostrowski Funeral Home St. Michaels.
