Lawrence Edward Passwaters' Obituary
Lawrence Edward "Shorty" Passwaters passed way at his home in Federalsburg on Sunday, February 9, 2025 following a long illness and surrounded by his family. He was 83 years old.
Lawrence was born in Easton, Maryland to the late Lawrence and Mary (Hrynko) Passwaters. He grew up in Federalsburg and was a graduate of Federalsburg High School. Following high school Lawrence served in the United States Air Force. While stationed in England he met and later married the former Janet Rose Dyke on June 8, 1963. Together they made their home in Federalsburg, and they were married 60+ years until Janet's passing in 2024.
In civilian life Lawrence went to work for DuPont and retired as a supervisor. During his time at DuPont and after he was a small business owner which included a time as a contract painter. Lawrence was active in the community as a Life Member of the Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Company, and he held memberships in the Federalsburg VFW, the Seaford American Legion, and the Seaford Moose Lodge.
Lawrence is survived by his children: Larnet, Debra, Sandra (Billy), and Stephen; his five grandchildren Austin, Oliver, Savannah (David), Olivia and Karsten; his one great-grandchild Dawson; his devoted caregiver of many years Margret Gross; and many friends to cherish his memory.
Burial at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery will be private.
