Lawrence H. Towers' Obituary
Lawrence H. Towers of Federalsburg passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Envoy of Denton. He was 94.
He was born on August 28, 1916 in Pinetown near Denton, Maryland son of the late Andrew J. Towers and Elsie Mae Howard Towers.
He was a farmer and also had worked for the former Excelsior Pearl Works and Long Lumber & Supply Company. He attended Harmony United Methodist Church and Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed doing wood working.
He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Ruth E. Quillen Towers whom he married Jan. 24, 1941, three daughters, Doris T. Meredith and her husband Edwin of Federalsburg, J. Lynne Breeding of Federalsburg, and Connie E. Dunnock and her husband Emmett, of Cambridge, a daughter-in-law, Diane Towers of Federalsburg, seven grandchildren, Katherine M. Cummings, Sally M. Worm, Terri T. Blanchfield, Jeff M. Towers, Heather L. Kraus, Carl E. Dunnock, Chelsea E. Dunnock, ten great-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, L. Marvin Towers and a brother, Robert Towers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Dan Walker and Robert Mackert officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
