Leonard R. Fletcher Sr.'s Obituary
Leonard Rudolph Fletcher Sr. of Harrington, DE passed away on November 7, 2016 at home.
Leonard or (Rudolph) as he was called by his family was born on February 18, 1943 the son of the late Mildred Alberta Fletcher and the late William Henry Turner.
Rudolph went to Caroline County Schools where he graduated from Lockerman High School class of 1961. His track abilities were well known.Rudolph worked at Walmart for a total of 9 years first in Camden, DE then transferring to Milford, DE in the Maintenance Department. He worked at Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford, DE for over 12 yrs. He worked several years at the Bakery in Federalsburg, MD, and he was a forklift driver at several other jobs and started his own cleaning service. He was also employed at the Harrington Casino where he worked for several years in the maintenance department. Rudolph was a member at the Church of God of Prophecy- Pastor Wanda Faye Lake in Federalsburg, where he served on the board of trustees and usher board. Leonard loved fishing, watching westerns, spending time with his grandchildren and listening to old gospel favorites.
Leonard leaves to cherish his memories his wife Mae Delores Fletcher, whom he married on April 17, 2004, who fondly calls Leonard (Poppy). His first born son Leonard Fletcher Jr. (Bunk) Cambridge, MD, three stepsons Kenny Parker Dover, DE, William(Rachael) Parker, Waterfall, Maine, Thomas(Amanda) Warren, Harrington, DE. Two brothers Wayne(Darnell) Fletcher, New Jersey City, NJ Stephen(Sabeam) Fletcher, Colorado, two sisters Angela Fletcher, Federalsburg, MD, Malinda (Joe) Wilcox, Preston, MD, Aunt Melvia (John D) Hill, Seaford, Delaware. Mother-in-law Gertrude Parker, Felton, DE, three sister-in-law’s Alberta Parker, Rachael Parker, Rebecca (Matthew) Watson. 11 Grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, host of very special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and co-workers.
Leonard was preceded in death by his mother Mildred Fletcher, his father William Turner, his son Maurice Fletcher, and sister Pamela (Herman) Mason.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg at 12 p.m. with Pastor Wanda Faye Lake officiating. Interment will follow at Federal Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
