Our sympathy and prayers for all of you and your families. Lois and I sat next to each other in several classes in high school since alphabetically our names were both L.
Slyter. Damon was my high school shop VoAg instructor my last semester of high school and his first semester of teaching. I remember visiting Leonard, Damon, Ray and my brother Stan at K-State when they all lived together in a basement apartment. I always remember Leonard's ready smile. Leonard's and my paths crossed later professionally when we attended national animal and dairy science meetings. I always enjoyed visiting with Leonard when we got together. May God uphold you all at this time.

Leonard was another Slyter--the only other (Slyter family) that I knew of--that lived anywhere nearby. My mother, Roma, and I lived in Howard County, Maryland, for some time. I regret not having met Leonard. I had wanted to, and thought of it, but time passed. Lifetimes seem short. Goodness! as I look at his picture now on this website, I can see a resemblance to other Slyters, especially my uncle Lowell. And kindliness certainly shows through in Leonard's picture.

My condolences to his wife Dolores, to Susan, and to Sandra and her family, and safe travels.

So many cherished memories of time spent with Leonard and Dolores. How he loved to tease! And the patience shown as Dick and I tried our hand at playing Bridge. A Christian through and through. I have been blessed to remember all my Uncles and Aunts with smiles on their face. Uncle Leonard would look you in the eye and smile. His excitement for cranking homemade peach ice cream is contagious! Mom said his nickname in high school was Bambi because he could run like a deer and set a few records.
