Lester James Medford Jr.'s Obituary
Lester J. Medford, Jr., of Preston, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at UMSMC at Easton. He was 81.
He was born on February 2, 1934 and was a son of the late Lester J. Medford, Sr. and Anna Bradshaw Medford. He is preceded in death by his wives, Betty J. Kyger Medford, Barbara Jean Colbourne Medford, and Nelva Amlin Medford.
Lester was an avid church goer and could always be found at any church function. He enjoyed traveling and was a large fan of NASCAR. He was a member of Smithson’s Mennonite Church in Preston.
Mr. Medford is survived by his daughter, Barbara Ann Tibbs, of Vienna, a son, Rodney James Medford and wife Lisa, of Federalsburg, seven grandchildren, Kevin, Holly, Rodney, Jr., Christina, Jason, Justin, and Jordan, and seven great-grandchildren. Besides his wives, Mr. Medford is preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Jean Medford and a brother David Wesley Medford.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Tom Amlin officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Eastern Shore Veteran Cemetery near Hurlock.
