Lillian Sharon Carels' Obituary
Lillian Sharon Carels, a proud resident of Bethlehem, MD, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on September 2, 1950, in Easton, MD, she was a cherished daughter, wife, mother, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Sharon dedicated many years of her life working as an accounting clerk for several poultry companies; Bay Shore Foods, Country Pride, ConAgra, Perdue AgriBusiness. She was happiest interacting with "her farmers". Sharon was a kind and gentle soul, known for her loving spirit and infectious laughter, which brought joy to many.
In her personal life, Sharon shared wonderful moments with her husband of almost 55 years, George "Wayne" Carels, and their children, Mark Carels and Melissa Kelly. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she always found ways to show them her love and support.
Sharon found joy in listening to live music at the Easton VFW, country line dancing and spending time with family. An avid baseball fan, she proudly cheered on her beloved Baltimore Orioles and her favorite player, Cal Ripken Jr. Her enthusiasm extended to basketball as well, as she passionately followed the Maryland Terrapins.
Throughout her life, Sharon faced challenges with incredible resilience, notably overcoming the need for a kidney transplant nearly 14 years ago. Her strength and determination in the face of adversity were truly inspiring to those around her. She was given the chance to enjoy more time with loved ones with a new lease on life. Sharon was fond of cardinals, which became a symbol of her vibrant spirit and enduring hope.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Wayne; her children: Mark Carels of Preston and Melissa Kelly of Easton; her grandchildren: Nathan Collins, Brayden Carels and Morgan Kelly; her siblings: Aaron "Bubby" Carroll, Jr. (Debbie), Vicky Jester (Timmy), Darrin Carroll (Lisa); , along with her large extended family and a special cousin Geraldine Carroll of Federalsburg. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents: Aaron Carroll, Sr. and Lillian Blessing Carroll.
A funeral service celebrating Sharon's life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00 at Framptom Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on Friday, February 21 from 6:00-8:00 and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at 10:00. Friends and family are invited to come together to honor her memory and share their favorite stories. Following the service, Sharon will be laid to rest at Junior Order Cemetery in Preston, Maryland.
