Linwood Hammond's Obituary
Linwood Hammond passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Kenneth Stone Hospital in Marietta, GA. He was 63.
He was born on March 31, 1958 in Caroline County, Maryland, the son of the late Linwood Taylor and Hilda Mae Brummell Hammond.
He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.
He worked for Burris Logistics in Federalsburg, MD and later Atlanta, GA, for many years as a fork lift operator and worked for Atlanta Station in Atlanta prior to his death.
Linwood was a Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. In his free time, he enjoyed football, basketball and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by two daughters: Kimberly Pruitt of Salisbury, and Sonia Lashay Jones of Elpaso, TX; one brother: Donnell Hammond and his wife Irene, a sister Ruth Ann Campbell and her husband Kermit; a special niece: TaShawna Bolden and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by siblings: Merrill Hammond, Charles Hammond, Vivian Hammond, Clifford M. Hammond, Jr., Angela Hammond and Marie Hammond.
Funeral services will be on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 1:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00. Burial will be private.
