Linwood Phillips' Obituary
Linwood Phillips, Sr., better known as "Tuck" was the son of the late Elijah Phillips and Lena Rebecca Wise. He was was born on May 5, 1912 in Nassawadox, Virginia. He departed this life on Sunday, October 8, 2006 after a short illness. He was reared up by the late Lena Rebecca Smith Wise and the late Luther Wise, which were his grandparents. He relocated to Caroline County, MD where he met and married Marjorie Irene Armstrong on December 30th, 1956 and to this union six children were born.
*He accepted the Lord in his life and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ on July 14, 2002 at New Life Apostolic Holiness Church under the leadership of Pastor Lawson. He also attended St. Luke Church of Christ under the leadership of the late Elder Clarence Wallace and also attended the International House of Worship under the leadership of Pastor Dawn Abbott.
*In his earlier years, he was employed by Phillips Packing Company, Brooks Nagel Farm Service, Curtis Andrew Auction, and the former Gilbert Wright Canning Co. Most of his life he did farm work, before coming disabled.
*He leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, and six daughters, Linwood Maurice Phillips, Jr. (Fannie) of Philadelphia, PA, Edwin Linwood Phillips, Jr. (Peggy) of Federalsburg, MD, Mildred Virginia Phillips Horton (Vernard) of Philadelphia, PA, Esther Marie Phillips Bell (Clezell) of Denton, MD, Patricia Anne Phillips, Lena Mae Rebecca Phillips, Marjorie Anne Phillips Batson (Tyrone) all of Federalsburg, MD, Gloria Jean Phillips of Wilmington, DE, a sister, Francis Wanamaker of Wilmington, DE, a sister-in-law, Beulah Wilmer (Norris) of Federalsburg, MD, four brothers-in-law, Clifton Armstrong (Signora) of Seaford, DE, Joseph Armstrong (Tammy), Johnny Armstrong, Cleveland Armstrong, all of Elizabeth City, NC, and he also leaves to cherish his memories a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Irene Phillips, a brother, Phillip Burton, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg. Interment will follow in Federal Hill Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call the Funeral Home one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
