Lisa Marie Ruiz's Obituary
Lisa Marie Ruiz, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, entered eternal rest on April 18, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on April 8, 1964, in Towanda, Pennsylvania, Lisa's journey began in a small town, but her heart and spirit expanded to touch the lives of many throughout her years.
A proud member of the Sayre High School Class of 1982, Lisa went on to fulfill her passion for service by enlisting in the United States Navy in 1983. While stationed in Spain, she found not only adventure but also love, marrying Manuel Ruiz on July 27, 1987. Lisa and Manuel returned to the United States, where they settled in Federalsburg. She retired from the Navy in 2005 and dedicated 31 years to the Federalsburg Post Office, where she served as a carrier, embodying the dedication of a true community member.
Lisa cherished her family above all else, finding joy in shared moments spent camping, riding motorcycles with Manuel, canoeing, kayaking, and embracing the great outdoors. Known as the life of the neighborhood, she was the heart of numerous gatherings filled with laughter, pool games, and the warmth of connection.
Her commitment extended beyond her immediate family; Lisa served her community with pride as a member of the Federalsburg VFW Post #5246, where she held the honor of being the former President of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also active with the Hurlock American Legion Post #243, the Poor Boys Yacht Club, and the APA Pool League, leaving an indelible mark wherever she went.
She is survived by her husband of almost 40 years, Manuel Ruiz of Federalsburg; two sons: Joshua Ruiz and his wife Marina of Ruskin, FL, and Jacob Ruiz of Federalsburg; two grandchildren: Nova Ruiz and Jade Miller, and six siblings: Jodi Santos and her husband Presly of Federalsburg, Tim Harris of Euless, TX, Michelle Harper and her husband Donald, Missy Harris, Michael Harris and Melanie Everitt all of Georgia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Manuel Antonio Ruiz, a brother Rick Harris and a nephew Jarrod Nickell.
The family will receive friends at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg on Monday April 27, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 and again on Tuesday from 11:30 to 12:30. The service will begin at 12:30 and the burial will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock.
