Louise J. Blades' Obituary
Louise Jennette Blades of Preston, MD passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at PRMC in Salisbury. She was 83.
She was born August 10, 1925 in Easton, MD the daughter of the late Gilbert and Bessie Christopher.
When she was first married, she worked at McCord’s Laundry in Easton, MD. Later she and her husband raised chickens for Robert Prettyman on Tanyard Road. They delivered newspapers for the News American and Baltimore Sun for over 44 years come rain or shine. Before they left to deliver papers every day they would always give each other a kiss and say, “I love you”.
She was preceded in death on July 28, 2005 by her husband of sixty-two years, Orville Lee Blades of Preston. She is survived by three sons, Dorsey Lee Blades and his wife, Miriam, Robert Davidson Blades and his wife, Emily, Larry Orvil Blades and his wife, Rose, all of Preston. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Annette Hinnershitz, Kevin Blades, Gary Blades, Brent Blades, and Lisa Ball, eight great-grandchildren, Kristen Robinson, Kara Butler, Meredith and Dalton Blades, Josh and Brooke Blades, Katlyn and Zack Ball, four brothers, Gene, Claude, Alan and Robert Christopher, numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dorsey (Doc) and Arthur Christopher and one sister, Marie Dulin.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. Interment will follow at Junior Order Cemetery.
