Louis John Reed's Obituary
Louis John Reed of Federalsburg passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012 at Seaford Center Genesis HealthCare in Seaford. He was 69.
Born May 17, 1942 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Louis A. and Olive Ridgway Reed. His wife, Bonnie Lee Haynes Reed, preceded him in death on Feb. 10, 2009.
He served his country in the United States Army serving from 1959 to 1965. He was a mechanic and he owned and operated Reed Enterprises until retirement in 2002.
He is survived by five children, Louis E. Reed of Salisbury, Kenny R. Reed (Cindy) of Lynchburg, VA, Frances O. McDermott of Federalsburg, Debbie J. Rumbley (Howard) of Hurlock, and Jack L. Reed (Denise) of Federalsburg; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, twin sister Lois “Dee” DeRoach of Federalsburg, a sister Peg Munion of Wingate, and a brother Robert Reed of Ellicott City, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by 2 sisters Janice Erb and Joan Bealefeld, and a grandson Michael Mendes.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Bishop Ray Parsons officiating. Inurnment will be private at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock.
