Lynda Jeanne Barrow's Obituary
Lynda Jeanne Barrow died peacefully attended by her beloved partner Robert Messick and sister Donna McIntyre in her home in St. Michaels, MD. Lynda was predeceased by her father Henry Barrow and brothers Robert H. Barrow and James R. Barrow. She is survived by her mother Jeanine B. Booker and sister Donna B. McIntyre (Thomas C. McIntyre) of Abingdon, VA.
Born in Buffalo, NY, Lynda traveled and lived in numerous parts of the world, and settled in Connecticut. While teaching in public schools, she acquired a Master’s degree from the University of Connecticut in Gifted and Talented Education, and continued teaching as an Enrichment Teacher in Mansfield, CT elementary schools. She retired in 2013 and moved to Maryland to be with her partner and best friend Robert Messick. In retirement, Lynda continued teaching Yoga and Ayurveda throughout Talbot County, developed her pottery skills at the Arts Academy and participated in local bridge clubs. The outdoors was Lynda’s playground. She loved swimming, hiking, biking, kayaking, water skiing and sailing. Her vibrant spirit drew many people to her side and her love for them was returned.
Memorial services will be held later this spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made online or via mail to the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center in memory of Lynda.
