Madeline Watkins' Obituary
Madeline Watkins of Laurel, DE passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Delaware Hospice in Milford, DE. She was 92.
She was born in Seaford, DE, on April 25, 1924, the daughter of the late Lee Phillips and Lillian Moore Phillips.
She was married on January 11, 1952 to Harley G. Watkins, Jr. and they made their home in Laurel. She worked as an operator for E.I. DuPont. Above all, she was a homemaker. She loved raising her family and taking pride in her home. She loved gardening, shopping, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Harley G. Watkins, Jr., three children, Barry Wilson of Laurel, Diana Watkins Taylor of Laurel, and Debra Jason of Brentwood, TN, seven grandchildren, Jerry Wilson, April Wilson, Gina Wilson, Ryan Jason, Hannah Jason, Jenna Jason, and Scott Williams-Watkins, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three siblings, Mary Jane Phillips, James Phillips, and Beulah Culver.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 3:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg, with the Reverend Denzil Cheek officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00. Burial will follow at McKendree Cemetery near Rhodesdale.
