Margaret Davis' Obituary
Margaret A. Davis, of Delmar, DE, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Seaford Center-Genesis Eldercare in Seaford. She was 71.
She was born on December 19, 1935 in Pittsville, MD the daughter of the late Robert Kelso Tyndall and Elva Madeline Gravenor Tyndall. She was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Davis on November 5, 1993.
She worked as a chicken processor in Berlin for over thirty years before retiring in 1999. She was a member of St. John A.M.E. Zion Church in Laurel where she had served on the missionary board.
She is survived by a son, Winifred James Hastings of Gumboro, DE, and his father, Roland James Hastings of Ocean City, MD, two brothers, Russell Charles Tyndall of Stokely, DE, Merrill Lee Tyndall of Delmar, MD, a sister, Bonnie June Scott of Delmar, DE, with whom she resided for the past two years, a step-daughter, Nora Townsend of Georgetown, DE, several nieces and nephews, and her dog, Buttons whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Mae Hitchens and a brother, Ernest Kelso Tyndall.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 8, 2007 at 1 p.m. at St. John A.M.E. Zion Church in Laurel, DE near Ross’ Point, with Minister Shirley Caldwell, her pastor, and Rev. Dr. John W. Kennedy, presiding elder of Philadelphia Eastern Shore District both officiating. Interment will follow at Line United Methodist Church Cemetery in Delmar, MD. Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday.
