Margaret A. Bridges
Bozman, Margaret A. “Deitz†Bridges of Bozman, died peacefully with her family by her side at the Memorial Hospital, Easton, on Thursday September 8, 2011. She was 82.
Born on September 3, 1929 in St. Michaels, she was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Lucy Seymour Evans. After attending public school in St. Michaels, “Deitz†as she was known by all, married G. Austin Bridges on October 25, 1946. A devoted homemaker for the majority of her life, she was also one of the first in the Bay Hundred area to shed soft crabs as a business. Following the retirement of her husband she devoted herself entirely to her home and family. Mr. Bridges died in December 1997.
She was a member of the Bozman United Methodist Church and the Christian Women of Bozman.
Mrs. Bridges is survived by two children; Jo Ann B. McQuay and husband Edwin “Buddyâ€, George T. Bridges and wife Patricia “Patsyâ€, one brother; J. Taylor Evans, all of Bozman, a granddaughter Cadie Bridges-Palmer and husband Miles, of Baltimore, three step grandchildren, six step Great-grandchildren and one step Great-Great grandchild. Also survived by a sister-in-law Patsy Evans of St. Michaels, and many niece and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters; Flora E. Hickman, Kathryn S. Tyler, four brothers; Raymond W. “Buddy†Evans, John S. Evans, Norman L. Evans and Henry “Punk†Evans.
Friends may call at the Hurley & Ostrowski Funeral Home P.A. St Michaels, on Sunday September 11, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Monday, at the Bozman United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in the Bozman Cemetery.
