Margaret Elizabeth Vesterman's Obituary
Margaret Vesterman, 78, of Greenwood, Delaware, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 13.
Mom, Grandmom, MomMom, Nana-she answered to many names, and each one meant love in its own special way.
She was the kind of woman who did not need a long list of accomplishments to prove her worth-her presence said it all. She had a quiet strength, a touch of sass, and a way of making people feel both loved and kept on their toes at the same time.
She was not about fuss or fanfare. She was about real life-family, moments, and saying things exactly how they were, whether you were ready to hear it or not. And if there was a little humor mixed in along the way, even better. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially doing crafts together-simple moments that meant everything. She also had a special love for feel-good, heartwarming Christmas movies, never missing a chance to enjoy a good story.
She especially loved the holidays, and she did not just celebrate them-she brought them to life. At Easter, you could find her dressed as the Easter Bunny, and at Christmas, she stepped right into the role of Santa Claus, spreading joy in a way only she could.
In the end, she gave those who loved her one final gift-peace. She left this world gently, without fear or struggle, surrounded by love. And if you knew her, you might say she chose her moment-in the middle of a story.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois and Harry Kringe; her husband, Gerald Vesterman; her brothers, Hilton and Richie Kringe; and her son-in-law, Arnie Blankenship.
She is survived by her brother, Mike Kringe; her sister, Lois Holder; her five children, Susan Willey (Roland), Lillian Vesterman, Jerry Vesterman, Michael Vesterman (Diana), and Dawn Blankenship (Dale Breeding); as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and Bruce, with whom she shared a special bond through her great-grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and still-somehow-very much present in the people she loved.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 10:00 at St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood. All are welcome.
