Margaret L. Alexander's Obituary
Margaret L. Sullivan Alexander of Rhodesdale, MD passed away on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010 at Coastal Hospice At The Lake in Salisbury, MD surrounded by her family. She was 88.
She was born March 17, 1921 in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of the late Wilbur E. Murray and Eva Virgie Forney.
She had worked at the Maryland Society for the Blind of 10 yrs., was employed by Baltimore County Board of Education as a bus driver for 16 yrs., then moving to the Eastern Shore and employed by Caroline County Board of Education as a bus driver for 4 yrs. She retired from Sisk Fulfillment in 1997 after 10 years of service. She was a Life Member of the V.FW. Ladies Auxiliary in Federalsburg, serving for over 33 years, and was District President and President three times. She was a member of the Hurlock Wesleyan Church.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph W. “Bud” Sullivan and his wife Marjorie of Churchville, MD, and Richard E. “Dick” Sullivan and his wife Bonnie, of Rhodesdale with whom she made her home, 5 grandchildren including devoted granddaughter Patti Coleman and her husband Jim, of Stafford, VA, 10 great-grandchildren including devoted great-grandchildren Amanda, Jeffrey and Connor Coleman, 5 step-grandchildren, and 4 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Susan Ann Schaffer and a sister Hilda May Lyons.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 18, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. A V.F W. Auxiliary Service will be held at 12:50 p.m.
