Margie M. Richmond's Obituary
Margie Marie Richmond, of Hurlock, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge. She was 79.
She was born June 9, 1928 in Shenandoah, VA, daughter of the late William Jasper Smelser and Rosa Lee Shomo Smelser.
She was a Riveter during World War II. She also had been a fur model and an office manager. She was a member of the American Legion. She was a loving wife of almost sixty years, to her husband, Earl, and the best mom ever.
She is survived by her husband, Earl D. Richmond, a son, Nathan Richmond and his wife, Brenda of Dover, PA, a daughter, Dawn Smith and her husband, Lou, of Federalsburg, six grandchildren, Louis Smith, III, Jason Smith, Krista Richmond, Kyle Richmond, Bradley Smith, Karlie Richmond, three sisters, Evaline Baker of Pennsylvania, Phyllis Jean Bowman of Westminster, MD, Joann Ludwig of Eldersburg, MD, a brother, Walter Leroy Smelser, of Frederick , MD, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Frances Harlow, May Caricoffe, and Willie Leon Smelser.
Funeral services for her will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Jeanne Kirby officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will be on Monday, August 6, 2007 at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
