Maria M. Reiss
Tilghman, Maria M. Reiss of Tilghman, died at the Memorial Hospital, Easton, on Tuesday, October 18, 2011. She was 89.
Born on November 27, 1921 in Baltimore County, she was the daughter of the late Edmund J. and Johanna Steidten Fischer. Mrs. Reiss attended school in Baltimore County, then on May 26, 1940 she married William Charles Reiss. They made their home in Palmyra N.J. until 1980 when they moved to Tilghman. Mr. Reiss died on October 16, 2006. Mrs. Reiss loved gardening, sewing, playing cards, entertaining, and cruising the Chesapeake Bay.
Mrs. Reiss is survived by her three children; Mary Agnes (Vally) Schlindwein (Martin), of Riverton, N.J. Cheryl Mc Glinchy (Peter) of Willsboro, N.Y. and Billy Reiss ( Eileen) of Tilghman. Ten grandchildren; Christine, Michelle, Colleen, Shannon, Marty, shaleen, Dana, Ellie, Ronnie and Amanda, and. 13 Great-grandchildren.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at the St. Michaels Catholic Mission Church, on Lincoln, Ave., Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 12:00 noon. Friends may call Wednesday evening at the Hurley & Ostrowski Funeral Home P.A. from 6 to 8:00PM.
Burial will be private.
