Marie Quidas Watts' Obituary
Marie Quidas Watts, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007 at Caroline Home for Hospice in Denton, MD. She was 92 years old.
She was born May 27, 1914 on the Wings Landing Farm in Preston, the daughter of the late Fredrick and Fannie Worm Quidas. Her husband of 69 years, Lloyd Hilton Watts, Sr. preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a clerk at Rodgers Market in Philadelphia for 10 years. In her younger days she was active in the Caroline County 4-H, was baptized in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Preston, and a member of the Homemaker’s Club.
She is survived by her son, Lloyd Hilton “Junior” Watts, Jr. and his wife, Ann-Lee, of Cinninnati, Oh, two grandchildren, Christopher Watts of Cinninnati, and Elizabeth Watson of Charlotte, NC; two great-grandchildren, Corey and Camryn Watson; a brother, Otto Robert Quidas, and a sister, Ethel Engle, both of Preston, two sisters-in-law, Ellen Prettyman of Easton, MD and Milly Quidas of Preston, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother, Josephine Engle, Irene Stanley, Bertie Plutschak, and Alan Quidas.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m., at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas E. Morley officiating. Interment will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Friends may call at the funeral home from from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Richard, Timothy, and Larry Engle, Glen Plutschak, Wayne Quidas, Allen Prettyman, Richard Wheatley, and honorary pallbearer, Stuart Engle.
