Marilyn L. Messenger's Obituary
Marilyn L. "Lynn" Messenger, 67, of Ocean View, Delaware, passed away on December 25, 2013, with her family at her side. Born in Salisbury, Maryland on February 9, 1946, she was the daughter of the late William Ashley Messenger and Sadie Elizabeth (Andrews) Messenger.
Lynn worked in the airline industry for twenty-six years, allowing for extensive travels in the U.S. and around the world. She was a customer service manager for American Airlines, and was a manager for the Transportation Security Administration at BWI.
She had an adventurous spirit and she loved to travel. She was a shopper extraordinaire. She loved being with her family and friends and was a gracious hostess.
Lynn had a generous heart. She was always giving, whether it was material gifts, the gift of time, acts of service, or an open home. She was for the underdog.
She loved cats. She gave a home to many in her lifetime, often those that were abandoned or abused, and they became her "babies."
Lynn is survived by her sister Miriam Thomas and her husband Richard of Salisbury; her sister Robin Jameson and her husband Thomas of Ocean View; her nieces Cheryl McKelvey and her husband Ronald of Delmar, Maryland, Linda Morgan and her husband Rob of Easton, Maryland, and Ashley J. Egan and her husband William of Baltimore, Maryland; seven great-nieces and nephews; nine great-great-nieces and nephews; an aunt, Helen McCabe of Selbyville, Delaware; many cousins; and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a beloved aunt, Minerva Messenger.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013, at 11:30 am at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg, Maryland. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery immediately following the services.
