Marilyn Marie Trapnell's Obituary
Marilyn M. Trapnell passed away on February 8, 2025, at Easton Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Marilyn was born to the late Roland C. Horne and Jessie VanDenElzen in Wisconsin on December 23, 1943. The family relocated to the Eastern Shore when Marilyn was young, and she finished school there. On November 8, 1969, she married Henry Rogers Trapnell, M.D. She worked in Dr. Trapnell's Federalsburg medical office as a medical assistant and office manager until Dr. Trapnell's retirement from practice. On July 13, 1973, she gave birth to the couple's only child, Jennifer Rogers Trapnell; however, she also had five stepchildren who live in Maryland and Ohio.
Marilyn was devoted to her many animals and at different times had pet pigs, parrots, burros, horses, cats and dogs. She was an accomplished horsewoman and enjoyed watching Jennifer compete in horse shows on the state and regional levels.
Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Steven G. Horne, her husband, and by her daughter, Jennifer.
Marilyn will be interred at Hillcrest Cemetery in a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her honor to the Caroline County Humane Society, in her honor.
