Marion C. Watts, Jr.
Claiborne, Marion C. “Buster” Watts, Jr. of Claiborne, died at the Maryland Veterans Healthcare System, Perry Point, MD. on Friday, August 10, 2012. He was 78. Born in St. Michaels on June 1 1934 he was the son of the late Marion C. Watts, Sr. and Altha L. George Watts. He attended Talbot Co. public schools and then worked at various jobs in the St. Michaels area, including being a carpenter, plumber, as well as working on the water. These things did not hold an interest for Buster, so he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After serving four years he returned to Talbot Co. working for a brief time until resuming a career in the military by enlisting in the Army. While making the Army his career he served tours of duty in Korea, and then three tours in Vietnam. Where he received a Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal Good Conduct Medal, as well as a Purple Heart while serving his country honorably for more than 22 years retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant in 1977. After his release from active duty he became a barber; a family trait since his father and younger brother were also Master Barbers. Buster owned and operated his own shop in St. Michaels for many years until retiring in the 1990’s. His beloved wife of 22 years Lorraine B. Olszewski Watts died on May 5, 1998. Since then Buster has resided in Claiborne. He was a member of the E.E. Streets Memorial post 5118 V.F.W. Easton, MD. He is survived by his sisters; Faye Phillips and her husband Kenny of Claiborne with whom he made his home, Betty Rose Robinson of St. Michaels, a brother; Jack Watts and his wife Betty of St. Michaels. Two sons; Rome Olszewski and his wife Karen of Hurlock, and Curtis Olszewski of Seaford, De. one Grandchild and four Great-grandchildren. Also survived by four nieces, four nephews, and many cousins. In addition to his parents, and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister; Ginger Watts, a brother Paul Watts, and a brother in-law Wallace Robinson. Friends may call at the Hurley & Ostrowski Funeral Home P.A. St. Michaels on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00PM. Services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday August 15, 2012 at the chapel of the Maryland Veterans Cemetery Eastern-shore, Hurlock, MD.
