Marion A. ("Skip") Harrison's Obituary
Marion A. Harrison He was a native of St. Michaels, Md. Skip joined the U.S. Army and made it his career and served 21 years. He was a decorated veteran of the Korean War, where he served two tours of duty, and one tour of duty in Vietnam, where he received the Bronze Star. Skip also served in Germany and France, and finished his career with the Signal Corp at Fort Dix 1970 to 1973. He also was a retired communications supervisor for the U.S. Civil Service at Fort Dix, where he worked from 1973 to 1994. Skip was a member of the American Legion and VFW and the Honkey Tonk Group at the 38 West Bar, Lumberton where he enjoyed the Black Sheep Band. He loved country music and dancing. Skip also enjoyed crabbing and fishing and his Wednesday night poker games with his friends. Beloved father of Linda Riggs of Mason, Ohio, Vicki Harrison, Tamara Harrison and Joyce Katz, all of Hamilton, Ohio; dear brother of Evelyne Garner (Don) of Tilghman Island, Md., Kay Howeth (Donald) of Easton, Md., and Malia Anderson (John) of Chantilly, Va.; grandfather of nine; and great-grandfather of many. Relatives and friends of Skip’s family are invited to his viewing and visitation 2 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at The Lankenau Funeral Home, 31 Elizabeth St., Pemberton, Borough, N.J., where there will be a funeral service at 3 p.m. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Olivet Cemetery, Talbot Street in St. Michaels. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Williams Syndrome Association (WSM), 570 Kirts Blvd, Suite 223, Troy MI 48084 in honor of his godson, Jason Anderson.
