Marjorie Blake, of Preston, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 85.
She was born on April 14, 1930 in Bridgeville, the daughter of the late William Matthew and Helen Sharp. On February 8, 1947, she married the late Leroy Blake, who preceded her in death on March 15, 2008.
Mrs. Blake enjoyed playing bingo and had a passion for cooking and baking. She spent most of her life working in the home as a homemaker, taking care of her beloved family, whom she truly adored. She was a member of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church in Preston.
She is survived by her two daughters; Delores L. Lake, of Denton, MD, and Joanne Greene (Rufus) of District Heights, MD; two sons, Leroy W. Blake, of Columbus, OH, and Bruce Blake (Leslie) of Laurel, MD; a special son-in-law, Maurice Hynson, of Preston, MD, 9 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce M. Blake Hynson.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 12 noon at the Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church in Preston with Reverend Claudia Waters officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Preston. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
