Martha Hall's Obituary
Martha Marie Hall of Federalsburg passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010 at University of MD Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. She was 81 years old.
She was born April 1, 1929 in Federalsburg, the daughter of Julius Littlejohn of Hurlock, and the late Iola Johnson Littlejohn. Her husband, Glasford B. “Mose” Hall, Sr. preceded her in death on April 9, 1999.
She retired after 20 years of service as Quality Control Inspector for Maryland Plastics. She was a beautician and known for making the “Tightest curl in the world.” Miss Martha was a lifetime member of the Church of God of Prophecy in
Federalsburg where she served as a youth and adult Sunday School teacher, Youth
Director, Vacation Bible School Director, Adult Counselor, church Treasurer and Secretary and served as Treasurer for many civic associations. She was known for her talents in cooking and baking.
Besides her father, she is survived by five children, Bessie Ann Cherry (David Lee Corston), Monroe W. Johnson (Rose), and George R. Johnson, all of Federalsburg, Glasford B. Hall, Jr. (Denise) of Stoneridge, VA, and Ernest D. Hall (Charlotte) of Stockton, CA; 14 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren; a sister Marilyn Neal of Hurlock, 2 nieces, Lucille Bolden-Wilson and Melinda Wilcox that were like daughters to her, and many god children.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church in Preston with Pastor Wanda Lake officiating. Interment will follow in Federal Hill Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call on Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg and on Thursday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to Church of God of Prophecy-Building Fund, 100 Austin Ave., Federalsburg, MD 21632.
