Martha S. Marcoon's Obituary
Martha S. Marcoon, 87, of Easton Maryland passed away on Thursday August 21, 2025. Marty, as she was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her. Born in Washington DC, Marty was predeceased by her parents Luther and Margaret Steward, and sister Lydia Ways. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Edward Marcoon, sons Stuart (Lisa), Ken (Julia) and Keith (Jackie) Marcoon, and daughter Lydia Marcoon. She was the proud grandmother of her 8 beloved grandchildren Luke, Anna, Reese, Tommy, Sydney, Jake, Clark, and Dallas, as well as beloved niece and nephews. Marty loved her family with all of her heart.
After marrying in 1963, Ed and Marty embarked on a life of raising a family, living in various parts of the country, and cultivating lifelong friendships.. Marty had a strong curiosity about the world and she and Ed traveled extensively. She enjoyed being in nature and raising and caring for her animals. Through her life, she cared for 4 horses and 9 dogs with skill and compassion. She continued to ride her beloved horse, Shadow, into her final years. She told wonderful stories about her life, and will be eternally missed.
A memorial celebration will be held at the Family Life Center at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Easton Maryland on Saturday September 6th from 11AM - 1PM.
