Martha E. "Marty" Griffith's Obituary
Martha E. “Marty” Griffith of Federalsburg, MD passed away on Monday, Nov. 24, 2008 at Caroline Nursing Home in Denton, MD. She was 75 years old.
She was born Sept. 2, 1933 in Federalsburg, the daughter of the late Milton Gray Towers and Mable Whitby Towers.
She was a Federalsburg High School graduate class of 1952. She worked as a cashier for many years at the former Bells Cut-rite in Federalsburg. She was a member of Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Arnold J. Griffith, Jr. whom she married on June 26, 1953, four sons and their spouses, Bunky and Renee Griffith of Seaford, DE, Bill and Dee Griffith of Federalsburg, Dicky and Nancy Griffith of Centreville, Steve and Patti Griffith of Greenwood, DE; 3 granddaughters and their spouses, Tiffinie and Joe Warner of East New Market, Tangee and Tony Towers of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Debra and Chris Smullen of Seaford, a grandson Mark Griffith of Greenwood, 4 great-grandchildren, Jonathon Griffith and Ashlea Towers both Council Bluffs, Joseph Warner and Breann Warner, both of East New Market; 4 brothers and their spouses, Buck and Reva Towers of Council Bluffs, Bill and Betty Towers of Seaford, Phillip and Beth Towers, and Kenneth and Barbara Towers, all of Federalsburg; sister-in-law Cathy Towers of Seaford, many nieces and nephews, and special caregivers at Caroline Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Jack Towers, Donald (Joan) Towers, and Doris Towers.
Funeral services will be held on Wed. Nov. 26, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
