Martin Richard Williams' Obituary
Martin "Richard" Williams of Federalsburg passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Penninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. He was 80.
He was born on May 7, 1943 in Ridgely, Maryland the son of the late William Martin "Bus" Williams, III and Mariam Roche Williams Toy.
After graduating High School, he was drafted into the United States Army. He faithfully served for twenty years from 1965 and retired in 1985 as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. During his tenure he earned his degree from Campbell College. After his career with the Army, he began a life-long career with Mount Aire as the director of transportation. He retired in 2009, returned in 2010 and retired a second time in 2011.
In his spare time, Martin loved to tinker and was a talented woodworker and mechanic. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt and golf. He enjoyed serving his community by volunteering with the Shriner's by providing transportation to area hospitals and also served in the Masonic Lodge A.F & A.M. Nanticoke Lodge.
He is survived by his wife Anna Swann Williams of Federalsburg, one son, Ryan Williams and his companion Sharon of Cecilia, KY, one step-daughter Donna Huffman and her husband Ken of Federalsburg, four grandchildren: Kaitlyn Williams, Morgan Williams, Crystal Huffman and Jonathan Huffman, six great grandchildren: Brantley, Makenna, Nathaniel, Josiah, Kyla and Ava; and one great grandchild: Rowan and four siblings: Helen Cropper of Millsboro, DE, Mary Ellen "Kiki" Jacobs and her husband Alva of Easton, Edwin Williams and his wife Linda of South Dakota, and Barbara Cherry of Easton.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 12:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00.
