Mary Elizabeth Davis' Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Davis, lovingly known as “Bette” or “Sis” of Cockeysville passed away at Stella Maris Guest Hospice in Timonium on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at the age of 78.
She was born on April 8, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late James Milford Davis and Helene Emma“Helen” Sohrbeck Davis.
She graduated from Preston High School with the class of 1955. She worked for, and retired from Bell Atlantic as a telecommunications supervisor. She was a member of the Pioneers Service Organization for Bell Atlantic. Bette was a long time member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Towson.
Sis is survived by a brother, James Eduard Davis, Sr. and his wife Betty of Westminster, four nieces and nephews, James Eduard “Jed” Davis, Jr. of Sykesville, Mary Lois Davis Harfst of Shippensburg, PA, J. Stewart Davis and Helene Forian both of Salisbury, four step nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Preston with Pastor Thomas Becker officiating. Interment will follow at Junior Order Cemetery in Preston.
