Mary E. ("Betty") Jacoby's Obituary
Mary E. Jacoby St. Michaels, Mary Elizabeth “Betty†Jacoby died at her home in St. Michaels, on Wednesday, August 6, 2014. She was 93. She was born in Washington D.C. on May 4, 1921.She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Clara Hudson Winfield. Betty graduated from Roosevelt High School in Washington, D.C. she then moved to Detroit, MI; where she worked for the British Army Staff during WWII. It was there she met and married Frank Bannister, they settled in England and began their family. She returned to the U.S. in the 1960’s. She then met and married William Jacoby; they made their home in Washington D.C. and St. Michaels. Mr. Jacoby died in 2013. Mrs. Jacoby is survived by a daughter; Georgia Robertson and her husband Jack, of St. Michaels, with whom she made her home, a son; Frank Bannister and his wife Kelli of Evergreen, CO., also Wm. Michael Jacoby and his wife Theresia of Easton, 11 Grandchildren, and 5 Great-grandchildren, and a niece Becky Shaw of Columbus, Ohio. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jacoby was preceded in death by a daughter; Sally Bannister. A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, St. Michaels, on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in the church columbarium. Memorial donations made be made to Talbot Hospice Foundation 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD. 21601. Arrangements are by the Ostrowski Funeral Home, St. Michaels.
