Mary L. Hill of Milford passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026 at Genesis the Milford Center in Milford, DE. She was 88,
She was born on April 29, 1937 in Alabama, the daughter of the late Robert Cook, Sr., and Bertha Mitchum Cook.
She was married to Ray Hill for 55 years and they made their home in Houston.He preceded her in death on July 3, 2020.
She worked as a seamstress for Cooper Smith and later for Milford Stitching. She was known for her talents and could make anything from clothing to draperies. In her free time, she loved going to the casino, yard sales, visiting her family in Alabama, and spending time with her family and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters: Sharon Matthews and her husband Greg of Greenwood and Crystal Henderson and her husband Tommy of Milford; five grandchildren: Brittany Jones and her husband Justin of Mardela Springs, Cody Downes and his wife Jaime of Bridgeville, Myranda Hacker and her husband Jared of Lincoln, Morgan Matthews of Greenwood and Luke Matthews of Millsboro; five great grandchildren" Bryce Jones, Aubree Downes, Brooklyn Absher, Ashton Hacker and Elena Hacker. And a special niece Darlagene Jones.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings: Bernice Harvill and Robert Cook, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 1:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home - Fleischauer Chapel in Greenwood. Interment will follow at St. Johnstown Cemetery.
