Mary L. (Jones) Inkell's Obituary
Mary L. Inkell Royal Oak, Mary Louise Jones Inkell passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30th in her home in Royal Oak, MD. She was 61 years old. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of Russell Claire Jones, Jr. and Jane Dives Jones. She was preceded in death by her daughter Jenny Jane Inkell. Mary Louise (“MLâ€) is survived by her husband Oscar Joseph (“OJâ€) Inkell, her son Joshua Joseph Inkell, daughter-in-law Deanne Kaye Inkell, and the light of her eyes, granddaughter Addison Elle Inkell, as well as her sisters Jane J. Gardner, Susan J. Peters, and numerous nephews and nieces, all who loved her. Mary Louise graduated from Syracuse University in 1974. From 1975 to 1976 she joined The American Freedom Train, which traveled the country with artifacts to celebrate The Bicentennial of The American Revolution. She met OJ on the train and they were wed in 1976. The next years were spent raising a family with her husband while he continued his service in the United States Army, including three years in Germany. Mary Louise returned with her family to the East Coast and a few years later settled on the Eastern Shore. Together she and her husband opened Chesapeake Recreation, a business they ran for over 20 years. Upon retirement they continued to enjoy The Bay and all the opportunities it provides. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, reading, fishing and spending time with all those who loved her. She surrounded herself with wonderful people and their company is a testament to the woman she was. A celebration of life will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, in St. Michaels, Maryland on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11:00AM. Interment will be private. Mary Louise always loved and supported the youth. Accordingly, her family established “The Mary Louise Inkell Youth Fund†to continue to support this cause. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mid-Shore Community Foundation, 102 E. Dover Street, Easton, MD 21601 or www.mscf.org designated to the fund. Arrangements are by the Ostrowski Funeral Home, St. Michaels, MD.
