Mary Roknick Medich's Obituary
Mary Roknick Medich passed away at Caroline Nursing Home in Denton on Monday, October 15, 2012. She was 87.
She was born in Freedom, PA, the daughter of the late Peter Roknick and Ljubica Skrbina Roknick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Medich whom she married on May 9, 1948 and passed away on September 14, 2002.
Mary attended Freedom High School, class of 1943. She stayed home to raise her two children. She enjoyed helping Steve with his garden, preserving the amounts of vegetables it produced, and welcomed everyone in their home. Family was most important in her life, along with her devotion to her religion.
She is survived by a daughter, Nadine M. Hilghman (Duane) of Easton, MD, two grandchildren, Kimberly Marzullo (Dave) of New Freedom, PA, and Ryan Jones of San Diego, CA, one greatgrand daughter, Piper Daniella Marzullo, a brother, Bob Roknick of Florida and one sister, Carol Roknick of PA. She was preceded in death by her son, Sam Medich and a brother, Sam Roknick.
Funeral services will be held at Monday, October 22, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Bash-Nied Funeral Home, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, PA 15626. Interment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
