Ms. Mary Helen Newcomb's Obituary
On September 20, 2020, Mary Helen Newcomb passed away peacefully at Chesapeake Woods Nursing Home in Cambridge, Md. She was 84 years old.
Born in Trappe, Maryland on June 2, 1936 to the late Mary Louise Brice and Ernest Roberts. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and socializing with family and friends. Any time you saw her she had a joke or a story to tell. She kept everyone laughing and smiling whenever she was around. She had a quick tongue and a sense of humor that will truly be missed.
Mary attended Robert Moton High School and graduated with the class of 1956. She later went on to work at McCord’s Laundry for 18 years and Cold Water for 8 years. In 2002, she gave her life to Christ and started her journey with him. During that time frame she was baptized and became a Mother of the Church.
She is survived by her children Sylvia Smith of Denton, Md and Travis Newcomb (Rhonda) of Easton, Md granddaughters Tania Copper and Dana Smith of Denton, Md, grandson Devron Hubbard of Easton, Md great-granddaughter Donasja Cooper of Denton, Md and her sister Ann Wilson of Trappe, Md
She was preceded in death by her estranged husband Edward Newcomb, parents Mary Louise Brice and Ernest Roberts and stepfather Albert Brice.
Mary is continuing her walk as she enter the heavens. One of her favorite scriptures is John 14:2 “In my Father’s house are many mansions” GOD has prepared a place for her. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
