Mary Elizabeth Walbert's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Walbert, “MeMe” passed away at her home in Cordova on Saturday, May 13, 2017. She was 81 years old.
She was born in Easton on January 28, 1936, the daughter of the late Lawrence McCoy Harrison and Sadie Iola Faulkner Harrison. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William Richard Walbert on October 31, 2000.
She graduated from Easton High School with the class of 1954. For 41 years she faithfully provided services for intellectually and physically disabled adults. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Queen Anne-Hillsboro VFC and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 7464 in Grasonville. Mary enjoyed doing ceramics and reading. She was truly devoted to her family and dearly loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Walbert of Easton, Penny Whitby and her husband Rick of Queen Anne, two grandchildren, Greg Whitby and his wife, Jenny of Centreville, Lauren Whitby of Queen Anne, and a great grandson, Jaxson Whitby of Centreville.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Hillsboro-Queen Anne United Methodist Church, 21991 Main Street in Hillsboro from 5-8 p.m. Friends and family are invited to the fellowship hall for light refreshments during the visitation. Interment will be private at Greenmount Cemetery.
