Mary Nadine Weaver's Obituary
Mary Nadine Weaver departed this world peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, while at home in St. Michaels.
Born Aug. 27, 1924, in Baltimore, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Marion (Jack) Weaver, also originally from Baltimore.
After graduation from Forest Park High School in Baltimore, where she was voted the 1941 Homecoming Queen, Nadine married in 1946, and worked as a secretary until her first child arrived in 1947 and the family relocated to the Washington, D.C., area.
She belonged to many women's clubs and did duty as a den mother in the 50s. She also graciously volunteered at several hospitals, including Memorial Hospital at Easton and Venice Hospital, as well as Easton Hospice.
In later years, after a move to Manor Country Club in Rockville, Nadine blissfully took up the game of golf and played numerous courses in Maryland and Florida nearly every day, weather permitting, and won various tournaments throughout the years.
After relocating to Darby Point in Royal Oak, and soon after to Solitude in St. Michaels, both on the Eastern Shore, she and Jack invested in a second "Snowbird" home in Venice, Fla., where she gladly continued her love of golfing and active social life. Eventually in 2004, she arrived to the neighborhood of Martingham in St. Michaels.
She is survived by three sons, Bruce and wife Victoria of Glenville, Pa., Bill and wife Evy of Rockville, and Richard and wife Jackie of Damascus; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held noon Friday at the Royal Oak Methodist Church of Maryland in Royal Oak. The Rev. Chris Pettit will officiate the service in her honor. A reception will follow immediately after. In addition to flowers, donations can be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation at cbf.org.
