Mary Irene Blake's Obituary
Mary I. Blake, 84, of Bridgeville, Delaware passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012.
She was born to the late Samuel Brummell and Ella Brummell on March 24, 1928 in Federalsburg, Maryland. Mary attended and finished school in the Caroline County school system. She married Kenneth Blake on the 31st day of August, 1949, and later went to New York to live and work.
Aunt Mary worked for the New York public school system as a bus attendant until her retirement on June 26, 1992. In 2003, she returned home to Federalsburg, Maryland where she lived for several years and later moved to Delaware where she lived until her untimely death. She attended Mount Calvary Methodist Church in Bridgeville, Delaware. Aunt Mary is survived by one sister Annie R. Woods of Federalsburg, Maryland and many nieces, nephews and family friends to mourn her passing. Also one great niece whom she loved and cared for many years, Cheryl Hammond. She was preceded in death by three sisters and seven brothers, Eva Mae Brummell, Sarah E. Brummell, Hilda Mae Hammond, Ernest H. Brummell, Walter B. Brummell, Jerome D. Brummell, Samuel W. Brummell, Charles E. Brummell, Louis T. Brummell.
A viewing will be held at from 6:00-8:oo p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Framptom Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Framptom Funeral Home, Federalsburg, Maryland. Interment will follow at Federal Hill Cemetery,Federalsburg, Maryland.
