Matilda Jane Sutphin's Obituary
Wittman, Matilda Jane Sutphin of Wittman, died at the Talbot Hospice House, Easton, with her loving family by her side, on Wednesday July 31, 2024. She was 81.
Born in Wittman, MD. on September 30, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Louise Brandow Knox. Having grown up in Wittman she attended St. Michaels High School. On November 12, 1959 she married Charles Wayne Sutphin they continued to make their home in Wittman. Mrs. Sutphin or "Jane" to all who knew her worked at various jobs doing whatever she could to help support her family.
She was a member of the Wittman United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities in the Church.
In addition to her beloved husband Wayne she is survived by her 6 children; Phyllis Louise Albright (Jay), Daniel Wayne Sutphin (Lori, Gregory Lloyd Sutphin, Charles Wayne Sutphin (Mary), Terri Lynn Sutphin, and Patrick Shawn Sutphin. Also her Grandchildren; Aron Albright, Ashley Bullers, Virginia Richardson, Daniel Sutphin, Rachel Whitehead, Amanda Sutphin, Hannah Sutphin, Charlotte Kayla Kearns Tanner Kearns and Lorna Cole, 8 Great Grandchildren and one sister Jean Cheezum. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister; Charlotte Knox.
A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Framptom Funeral Home-Ostrowski Chapel St. Michaels.
