Melissa Dawn Willoughby's Obituary
Melissa Dawn Willoughby of Hurlock passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at her home. She was 58.
She was born on September 8, 1964 in Cambridge, Maryland the daughter of the late Gary "Pert" LeCompte, Sr. and Doris Rebecca Harding LeCompte.
Growing up in Vienna, Missy graduated from North Dorchester High School with the class of 1982. She married Russell D. Willoughby, Sr. on August 7, 1982 and they made their home in Vienna. They later moved to Hurlock after they raised their family.
Missy loved her family. Her grandchildren were her eyes. She enjoyed family gatherings, trips to Millie's, cooking for her family, playing on her computer and her animals. She had a love for people and a smile to match.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Russell D. "Butch" Willoughby, Sr. of Hurlock, two children: Rusty Willoughby and his wife Brittni of Sharptown, and Kelli Helmer and her husband R.J. of Hurlock; three grandchildren: Carter, Gracie and Emrie; a sister Donna LeCompte of Hurlock and a brother Gary LeCompte, Jr. and his wife Mary of Vienna; a special aunt Sharon "Shar Shar" Hurley and her husband Earl of Vienna.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Kimberly LeCompte and a special friend Cathy Bramble.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 12:00 at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Reverend Joel Beiler officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00.
